"I research all of my business decisions and determined Mobil Delvac is the best product for my equipment. I am a strong believer in setting the highest maintenance standards and only use Mobil Delvac to keep my high-quality equipment in optimal running condition."
– Chris Moore, president of Lawncare of Hampton Roads, based in Newport News, Va
Chris Moore said his company is committed to providing lawn care services that exceed customer expectations. He specializes in residential and commercial irrigation and sod installation and offers everything from basic grounds maintenance to custom design/build projects. His business depends on his state-of-the art equipment, and he has a full-time diesel mechanic on staff to maintain vehicles and machines.
Q: How did you get started in the landscape business?
Moore: When I was 15 years old, my dad was my Boy Scout troop leader. We needed some extra money for summer camp, so we started mowing lawns. It was so successful that we decided to continue the business. He ran the business for a few years until I finished school, and then we started to expand. I continued my education by taking local horticulture classes and specialized in irrigation and sod. In 2003, I started Lawncare of Hampton Roads.
Q: What is your customer-service philosophy?
Moore: I believe in giving customers service beyond what they expect. When we complete a maintenance job, we make sure there’s something else we can do to show we go the extra mile. Most of my business comes from both residential referrals and recommendations from other landscapers who need irrigation installation, so it’s important they are satisfi ed with our work.
Q: How important is Mobil Delvac to your business?
Moore: I research all of my business decisions and determined Mobil Delvac is the best product for my equipment. I am a strong believer in setting the highest maintenance standards and only use Mobil Delvac to keep my high-quality equipment in optimal running condition.
Q: Where do you purchase Mobil Delvac?
Moore: We buy it at AutoZone, where we appreciate the excellent service.
Q: How do you “own your success?”
Moore: I try to put myself in the shoes of my paying customers and do the job the way I would like it done myself. It’s important to foster a good company image with well-maintained equipment, uniformed employees, competitive pricing and unsurpassed customer service. We have expanded the business even in tough economic times and have experienced nearly 100% growth every year by adapting to the market.
